Mental Health Awareness Month is a time dedicated to shining a light on the importance of mental well-being.
Since 1949, throughout May, Mental Health Awareness Month has been recognized in the US, and now across the globe, encouraging people to come together to break the stigma surrounding mental health, share valuable resources, and build a supportive community.
Whether you're seeking information, looking to support a loved one, or simply want to contribute to the conversation, this month offers an opportunity to educate, empathize, and engage in meaningful discussions about mental health.
As an agency, we’re extremely passionate about the mental wellbeing of our team and building a company culture that puts people first. It’s important for conversations surrounding mental health to be present in the workplace, and in our personal lives all year round, but months like this allow us to reflect on the things that bring us joy.
We want to share some tips from our team including…
❤️🩹 Their top mental wellbeing tips.
❤️🩹 Which mental health focused influencers they’re following.
❤️🩹 The brands and charities they admire for advocating mental health awareness.
This might sound a bit cliché, but honestly, getting active has been the best thing for my mental health. Whenever I’m not in a good headspace, I’ve learned that moving my body, in any form, helps a lot.
@ashparaskevas - She’s just so open and raw about the ups and downs of her mental health journey. I just think we need more people like her on the internet.
Galop – a charity that supports LGBTQ+ individuals who have experienced hate crime, domestic abuse, and sexual violence.
Gardening and crafting always help me feel more content. Focussing on a manual task in front of you stops the mind from wandering too much. Seeing the finished product or watching the plants grow brings a lot of satisfaction and happiness.
@makedaisychains – Hannah’s channel is my go to when I need some positive vibes. Her quotes accompanied with adorable illustrations can make your day!
YoungMinds – It’s a mental health health charity for children, young people and their parents. They provide young people with tools to look after their mental health and empower adults to be the best support they can be.
I’m a natural creative so escaping into that passion allows me to rest my mind from the race of the world and of course, therapy.
Asa Dugger; Asa is God lead first and we’re from the same area so we’ve experienced a lot of similar struggles. She’s very open about her struggles and how she manages them which I can appreciate. Her authenticity resonates with me.
Journaling and going out for a walk! I always feel so much happier when I’m out in the sun or having some fresh air. Journaling is also super helpful to process your thoughts and declutter your mind.
Hitomi Mochizuki is one of my go-to comfort creators when I feel down. Her down-to-earth and nature-loving personality makes me calm down instantly. I love her recipes and yoga practices.
Mermaids is a UK charity focusing on the mental well-being of transgender children and young people. They offer helplines, support groups, family events and training for individuals and groups
